My senior concept was a comprehensive exercise that evaluated how our society produces and views trash. Driven by the fast paced lifestyle and excessive consumerism, our society has embraced a “throw away culture” that is adversely impacting our planet. My projects are an attempt to transform unwanted materials and create beautiful textiles and garments while educating the public with the hope of altering behavioral patterns and producing less waste.  Each piece was produced using second hand materials and items that were considered trash and/or waste and is a culmination of several years of my interest in upcycling and sustainability.
