scrap yarn dress

Scraping Together Scraps is a continuation of my research that is looking into sustainable and effective ways to repurpose materials. For this project I focused on collecting and using yarn scraps within the Fibers community. I tied all of the yarn scraps together and made 9 balls of yarn out of recycled materials which were used to knit a tube that was over 500 feet long. I used this yarn to crochet a dress. This 100% recycled yarn is very versatile and could have a variety of different functions and applications. This dress is also unique because it can be taken apart and crocheted into something else, making the garment even more sustainable.
